Investing for income?

I am totally new to investing and have been looking at my options here is my experience.

I am trying out Zopa to see if it is suitable for me to invest in to generate an income so that I don't have to work in a few years (hopefully). This is my experience of using them and things I have discovered about it during the process.

Please note: I am not trying to sell you on the idea and as with any investment you must do your own research and if you can't afford to lose money seek financial advise. Not a lot here so far but I will add details as quickly as I can.
