[edit] First Thoughts

Initial thought is a stack of 4 motherboards each dual processor dual core (16 core) using a network filesystem linking to pair of central RAID5 hardware nodes rsynced to each other. All this in a single case with a single DVD drive and redundant PSU's. See if it is feasable to replace 5 x Dell 2950's operating independently.

Must be constructed using commodity parts and extremely easy to maintain.

The system must be able to host many domains using Plesk hosting control Panel on standard Centos.

The servers must all respond to a single IP so some type of internal NAT???

Single central configuration of all nodes. ie, I log onto one node and edit a file it affects all nodes. Round robin reboot system. If for example I edit apache config file I need apache to restart on all nodes. Need to figure out how to do this easily and without any downtime overall.

Must be fully opensource.
